Determination of nitrate in root vegetables
Fiala, Petr ; Štursa, Václav (referee) ; Diviš, Pavel (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis deals with the study of nitrates occuring in different species of root vegetables. The aim is to compare the amount of nitrates in common type of vegetables to bio vegetables. The theoretical part of the Bachelor thesis is devoted to root vegetable in general and also to nitrates and their influence to human health and nature. Fertilizers and organic agriculture are also mentioned. The last chapter focuses on the analytical method. The measurrement is carried out by the ion chromatography and the outcome of nitrate concentrations in both types of vegetables is compared and discussed. The results point out higher concentration of nitrates in bio-quality vegetables.
Recycling of phosphorus from waste water
Szotkowski, Matěj ; Bojanovský, Jiří (referee) ; Brummer, Vladimír (advisor)
The focus of this thesis is to create an overview of methods that are used to recycle phosphorus from waste products, primarily from wastewater. The first section of the thesis is dedicated to problems stemming from the limitations of phosphorus resources, their usage and legislative background of phosphorus recycling. Next the physicochemical and biological methods of phosphorus recycling from wastewater and products of its further processing in WWTP are addressed. This part of the thesis contains description of phosphorus recycling methods, their final products and implemented technologies. Brief review regarding the recycling of phosphorus from other waste products including the description of implemented methods follows. In the subsequent part the economic analysis of a chosen phosphorus recycling method (PASCH) is conducted. In the analysis the legislation, processing plant and individual expenditures connected with the method are described. Findings obtained and gathered during the process of the thesis creation are discussed and summarized in the conclusion.
Research on the release of nitrogen compounds from fertilizers
Cápková, Viola ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the monitoring of the release kinetics of ammonium, nitrate and phosphate ions from slow release fertilizers covered in potassium polyacrylate. Fertilizer samples were subjected to different extraction reagents and experimental conditions. The effect of dynamic and pressure conditions in comparison to the static conditions was investigated, same as exposion to distilled, drinking and atmospheric water. The change in concentration of each analyte was measured at regular intervals using molecular spectrophotometry. Distilled water was found to be the best extraction reagent, with no significant difference between the experimental conditions. Slow release of nutrients was proved for two fertilizer samples, the urea fertilizer and it’s modified form.
Production and use of specialized substrates and organic fertilizers in agriculture: Methodology for practice
Šimon, Tomáš ; Usťak, Sergej ; Váňa, Vojtěch
The aim of the methodology is to provide to farmers, agricultural advisors, gardeners, producers and users of organic fertilizers and cultivation substrates, research workers and agricultural educators and all other interested parties, the basic information on the possibilities to use specialized substrates and organic fertilizers in agriculture. Its application in practice can ensure environmentally acceptable and economically efficient fertilization of agricultural crops. In the introduction, the methodology provides a basic overview of literary information about the concerned issue. Furthermore, the methodology describes the results obtained during the research project, which can be used in practice and provides agrochemical, agronomic and economic assessment. Part of the methodology is the assessment of agrochemical efficiency of fertilizer application at the cultivation of selected agricultural crops. There are described application methods and effects on soil and plants. Finally, it provides a summary of the results achieved and general recommendations for practice.

Methodical practice of taking samples fertilizers, plants and soil for determination of risk elements in agro-ecosystems and other parameters of soil fertility: applied methodology with certification
Kunzová, Eva ; Menšík, Ladislav ; Hejcman, Michal ; Dostál, Jiří
The methodology is describing latest findings on methods of sampling of barnyard manure, organic and organomineral fertilizers, samplings of vegetable material and soil for determination of risk elements content. As a part of the methodology there is description of laboratory methods for determination of dry matter content, pH, content of essential nutrients and risk elements in samples (of farmyard manure, organic and organomineral fertilizers, vegetable material and soil). Methodology is describing methods of characterization of quality of soil organic matter (SOM) and most important limit valuables of risk elements in fertilisers, substrates and soils. The application of methodology will be in the corporation farming on arable soil, grassland, classical and also ecological agriculture. It will be used also by accredited laboratories, agricultural consultant and in advisory framework of Ministry of Agriculture of Czech Republic etc. Methodology can be used by civil servants, students and teachers in secondary schools and agricultural universities etc.

The influence of genotype , habitats and agricultural technologies for producing energy wood phytomass selected
CHRT, Vladimír
This diploma thesis deals with the cultivation of fast-growing wood and concentrates on the influence of particular factors like e.g. location, agrotechnology and fertilizers, which have a crucial impact on the phytomass production. Moreover, the thesis evaluates the economic efficiency of this type of sustainable energy ressource, which can be a source of local business. Introductory theoretical chapters describe essentials rules of the cultivation of fast-growing wood. Furthermore the thesis presents general information in this field and proposes suitable wood clones. In addition, the thesis outlines the process of choice and preparation of the agricultural parcel, the usage of various fertilizes, herbicides and agrotechnology. The applied core characterises the business case itself. The primary research compares financial investment and its return of two examined agricultural parcels under the prerequisit of suitable choice of location and agrotechnology. A trail phase depictes the cultivation of fast-gworing wood and discuss presumptions for succesfull business. This thesis is mainly based on primary research. The acquired data are further analyzed and the final chapter attempts to outline the results and suggest measures.
